Love is in The Air...but When is the Date?

Valentine's Day is thee number one day of the year for engagement proposals! With that being said...what's next? You have the ring, man of your dreams..check! Now where to go from here? First thing, pick a date! Be realistic, now don't aim for the middle of April when it's only February! See even if you are looking for simple and small when it comes to your wedding, you will regret not taking every moment in. Give your self that time to really appreciate what is going on around you. Picking out your invitations with your mother, venue searching with your best friend, and finding the perfect dress with your sister. Do not take those moments for granted, embrace them! Give yourself enough time to really enjoy, pace yourself and NOT over stress yourself! Anywhere between 6-months to a year is plenty of time to get your budget, guest list and all of your vendors in order. Times are tough right now for many new brides, if that is the case, 1 year would be best for you. Once you get your date, budget set and venue booked, it all falls into place from there. It's a exciting time, take it all in and congratulations!

Simple Elegance

Here are a few ideas that not only are they unique, but simple and dare I say, inexpensive. For instance; lady's you do not have to have fake flowers to pinch and save for your wedding. I want this whole fake flower concept to disapear! They do not add to anything, they only take away! If you chose simple skinny vases, you only need two to three flowers to fill it, and it looks beautiful. Two words; Sam's Club! There flowers are amazing! You can order in bulk from roses to orchids, they have it all and at over half the price. No more fake flowers brides!

Here at TreasureValleyBrides.com, have some announcements we want to share with everyone!
~First.. WEDDING PARTY SHOW this weekend, Saturday 1/9 from 10-5 fashion shows at 12 and 3, Sunday 1/10 from 11-4 fashion show is at 2. It's only $5.00 at the door (Boise Centre on the Grove) what you will eat in food alone is worth the 5 bucks! ~Second... we have the 'for sale' section of our website up and running. If you are a bride and you have 115 votive candle holders that you will never use again.. take a picture, email it to us along with a short description and how much you want for it, we will post it. Bride-to-be's if you are looking to save a little money on any wedding items check it out first!

The Adelmann

I went and visited with Karen and Travis down at the newly opened Adelmann, A Woodriver Event Center. AMAZING is the only word I can use to describe this venue! If you are interested in a classy, elegant, feel this is your place. I think after all of the searching I may have found my venue of choice. The ceilings are amazing, this place is pure elegance! I have some of the pictures I snapped below. I am pretty sure this is where my wedding will be I just have to get the fiance's stamp of approval! It is gorgeous. The amazing thing about the Adelmann is you wouldn't need to do much to make it perfect. I definitely like the motto less is more when it comes to
weddings and this place really screams it. It would take very little to this place. I see candles and that's about it. The price is great as well. There are two ballrooms upstairs (where the Loft and Cool Hand Lucks used to be) it is $1200.00 a piece for the ballrooms or $1800.00 if you rent the entire floor. Travis has some great ideas for wedding ceremonies and receptions.. just ask! I would highly recommend this venue to any bride that hasn't found that place yet! Call Travis at 208-230-0285 and tell him TreasureValleyBrides.com sent you! Oh and I forgot to tell you that with the room rental you also get the tables and chairs (huge savings!). The do not have a website up yet because they are so new but Travis or Karen would be happy to show you around, they are very friendly and informative! Another great thing, because they are so new they have a lot of openings for the coming year! If you do view it or if you've been there already I'd love to hear from you on what your thoughts are for setting it up!

JUST A FEW TIPS FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT HAVE NOT BEEN TO A WEDDING SHOW BEFORE.....

1.) Wear the most comfortable shoes you own, don't go for cute go for comfy!
2.) Bring cash some of the food/drink vendors only accept cash..
3.) Have at least 3 hours to commit to the show, any less then that, you will feel rushed and wont be able to enjoy yourself.
4.) Don't force (guilt) your fiance into going if he doesn't want to.. it'll ruin your time! Take your mom, MOH, or sister, someone that is going to be part of your big day and is excited about it!
5.) AND MOST IMPORTANT... make mailing labels before you go, about 3 pages worth, include
*Name of Bride & Groom
*an email address (think about creating an email for your wedding only.. makes you more organized!)
*Phone number
*Mailing address
*and wedding date

Only give your labels to vendors you are interested in, it's ok to say no!

And remember ENJOY yourself!

Newly engaged.. now what?

First off we would like to say congratulations! It is a magical time right after you get engaged and also pure ciaos! Where to start, what to do first, I know I'm right there with you! My boyfriend proposed after 4 1/2 years of being together and I get soo overwhelmed! What I have found it is important to get organized first and foremost! Second, you need to sit down with your fiance and brain storm of what you want your wedding day to be like, do you want casual, over the top, garden setting, chic, you really need to get an image in your heads of what you are wanting. Once you have that it tends to start flowing. We are lucky in this day and age because we have GOOGLE! I google everything. Anytime I have free time on my hands I go to google, then to images, and look at pictures of "wedding decorating ideas, unique favors, wedding flower boutiques, the list goes on and on. Another great idea is to print them off. When you see something you like print it off and put it in your binder that way you can always go back and look at it and you don't have 1000 bookmarked websites.
Find some sort of vision board, lets say you are interested in a garden wedding ..This would be a great vision board for you (if you like these ideas)

lets say you are more into Hollywood Romance for you wedding.. how about this one??It really makes a difference if you have a clear picture of what you want; always remember it is about what you and your fiance want. Not what your mom, best friend, or mother in law wants. This is your day make it about you.
