There are quite a few Wedding Shows coming up starting in January, get ready Brides! Here are a few tips to help you get more out of the shows. Make sure to have a plan before headed out. Make a list of vendors you are interested in for your wedding. A lot of times at the shows vendors will have a special if you sign up then with them; keep that in mind to save yourself some money. Another great tip set up an email account just for your wedding. You can set up a free email account through hotmail, yahoo, or gmail. It is a terrific idea to have a separate email account just for your wedding. Also go get labels, you can pick them up for pretty cheap and it will save your hand! Make sure to print your name, your fiance's name, your address, email, number and date of your wedding. Then you simply stick your label onto the vendor’s info sheet instead of writing it over and over again. Huge time saver!

Photography by Joncee May
We asked the lovely Joncee May, with Photography by Joncee May; to tell us all a little about herself. Joncee is wonderful, she is a featured photographer on our website and whenever we ask she is always willing to help out! Thank you Joncee May!
I am a wife and a mother with a passion of capturing the excitement of life through photography. I LOVE photographing people, Nothing is more exciting or fulfilling to me than capturing the "love" between people and the emotion that is shown on a wedding day.
In order to do this I use what I call lifestyle photography. I want to capture you in your natural state, living your life! However, I also want you to look your best doing it. Most of the time I will not be posing you. but I will tell you if you need to fix your stray hairs, or move your hand into a more pleasing position. You will be pleased to receive lots of meaningful candids when I photograph your day. My goal is to have you say "I did not even know you took that picture."
I also will do posed shots. Most of these will be when the bride and groom are alone. These are the more artistic, and dramatic photos that my clients love. Posed shots will also be used when we are doing the group photos with the family and with the bridal party. Most of all my goal is to capture photos that will make you remember your special day in years to come.
I want you to look at your wedding photos and fall in love with your spouse all over again. I want you to be able to have something beautiful to represent your day that can be passed down for generations. But, most of all, I want the photos to represent YOU and who you were at that moment in life.

Attention Men!
We have been asked many times.. What is the best way to propose?
Here are a couple of ideas that your soon to be wife will not forget!
1.) Silverhawk Aviation - Do NOT do this if your girlfriend is afraid of heights it could turn out very badly! Silverhawk Aviation offers helicopter rides, they are currently running a special for Christmas to go and view the Christmas lights from "Santa's view" it would be absolutely breath taking! It cost $125.00 per couple! If you are not planning to pop the question until after the first of the year; they are also offering a Valentine's Day Special February 12th, 13th, & 14th for only $99 per couple! For more information click here!
2.) This picture was done with candles. Another very cute idea we have seen is it written out with Christmas lights. Just something to think about to tie in with the holidays!
3.) Another adorable idea, take your sweetheart back to where you guys first kissed. Reminisce with her about that moment, and then you get down on one knee.
4.)How cute is this.. Get up early in the morning and go find a place on the way to Bogus (or anywhere there is snow) and spray paint "Will you Marry Me?" in the snow. Go home and tell your girlfriend you want to go for a drive!
5.) You could always go out to her favorite nice restaurant, have a wonderful meal and when the dessert shows up, you go down on one knee. Please don't put it in her meal we have heard many horror stories that end in the ER!
The important thing to think about is what type of person is your girlfriend? Make sure that you do something she would want! Your girlfriend may rather have a quite proposal just the two of you in your living room, or she might want it on the big screen at a sporting event. Just remember this is the moment we have dreamt about for many years and we want it to be special! We want it to be a moment we will never forget! Remember ALL girls like flowers (even if we say we don't)

Lindsey's Wedding Journal #2
November 24, 2010 ~ Lindsey’s Journal
Well I logged into my email this morning to find that I now have 289 days until the Big Day! This is just torture I think I will have to add these emails to my junk. I think they are informative emails however every time I see that number I start to have a little panic attack. Anyone else feel that way? I have found my new best friends ~ Sorry Krissy! It is my wedding planner! I love this binder it has everything you could ever imagine, I have pictures I have printed off, planner, receipts.. everything!
Just a side note, you do not have to go spend $30-$50 on a wedding planner; if you go to Google and look up “free wedding planner download” a ton of website will pull up; download and print it off. Head over to Walmart and buy a 3 ring binder and a package or two of dividers and you my friend have a wedding planner! Here is a great link , that has a wedding month by month count down. Having a checklist is the best way to not get overwhelmed! Take it month by month.
We have all heard about personal wedding websites, they are great and I would suggest that everyone makes one! You can find them for free; momentville.com is a great site and it’s free. Another amazing idea that was passed down to me was to create an email account just for your wedding. I had never thought of this but I can tell you I love it! I have my business email accounts and then my personal and now I have one for our wedding. It is such a great idea, I give out that one to all the vendors and all of my wedding emails are now in one place!
My agenda for the next 30 days: dress shopping, dj, save the dates, photographer. I am having troubles finding wedding invitations. If you know of any place where I can get pocket (quality) invitations for a decent price please let me know!
Until next time,
Lindsey

Honeymoon!
November 20, 2010 ~ Honeymoon!
Don’t forget your Honeymoon! For a lot of couples the honeymoon is put on the “If we can afford it list” Our advice, do everything you can to take a Honeymoon! Even if it is going to McCall for a few days or go to the coast for 4 days, do something.. you have earned it! Some of us brides have planned for a year; every spare second we are planning and making decisions we have earned a few days of vacation.
Here are a few tips for your Honeymoon:
1.) If you are going somewhere out of the country be sure to apply for your passport early on (if you don’t have one yet) make sure to keep everything in your maiden name!
2.) If you are flying – when packing put half of your clothes in your husband’s suit case and have him put half of his clothes in yours. That way if one of your bags get lost; you will still both have clothes.
3.) Before you leave do some research on where you are going and find attractions you really want to see, don’t wait until you get there you will miss out on some amazing attractions!
4.) While you are there talk to your waiters, bar tenders, and hotel staff to find out where the locals go, it is always a great time to go to a local pub.
5.) Make sure your driver’s license does not expire while you are gone! If it does you could potentially have problems getting home (which may not be a bad thing!)
6.) Try and go for the all-inclusive whenever possible. Make sure you read what their “all-inclusive” includes. Some don’t include excursions or alcoholic beverages. All-inclusive resorts are a great way to go; you don’t have to pay for food, drinks, tips. As long as you are on the resort it’s free!! The Sandal’s Resorts are amazing, go to www.sandals.com; they are always running specials and you can usually put a deposit down of around $300-$500 dollars and then make payments, great way to go!
7.) Make sure to enjoy yourself and each other!

Winter Wedding Wonderland
This is simply breathtaking! It would be very cost effective also. All you need to make this dramatic ceremony scene would be gather branches, white spray pain, maybe some glitter and Christmas lights.
Beautiful cake, this would be a terrific cake if you want to do a snow flake theme or a winter wonderland theme.
This would make such a dramatic entrance and exit for you and your groom!
These are all very beautiful! If you are thinking that you want a Winter Wonderland wedding, consider going shopping the day after Christmas when most retailers will put all their Christmas decorations on clearance!
We love both of these favor ideas. Most everyone loves the cinnamon pine cones for their homes during the winter. You can purchase a bag of 12 for relatively inexpensive. Then pick out some ribbon that matches your wedding colors and maybe some card stock that you print "Thank You" on and you have yourself wedding favors!
If you are considering a Winter Wonderland Wedding, start by going to Google images, there are endless possibilities!
If you have any pictures of your Winter Wonderland Wedding or a wedding you've attended send us pictures; we'd love to share them! TreasureValleyBrides@hotmail.com

Lindsey's Wedding Journal
November 11, 2010
As some of your many know I am also planning my wedding. My fiancé and I have been together for five years. I thought it would be a fun idea to blog about my wedding planning to see if it would help upcoming brides and if you have any advice for me please don’t hesitate to comment! I too get very overwhelmed at times. Like this morning when I logged into my email and the first email says 302 days left until the big day.. panic set in. Oh my word I have so much to do, how will I ever get it all done! Then I remember I just have to take a deep breath and realize it has to get done and I can only take it one day at a time!
So far we have selected a date, September 10, 2011 (9-10-11; thought it was a cute date!) We have selected a venue which is Sawtooth Winery. I never imaged that the venue would be the hardest choice. There are so many beautiful locations in the Treasure Valley; however most of them did not fit my needs. Sawtooth Winery was the only place that was going to work, it is absolutely beautiful, if you are looking for an outdoor venue do yourself a favor and check out Sawtooth Winery. My favorite things about Sawtooth Winery besides it’s beauty is that it has indoor bathrooms; I never imaged that having bathrooms was going to be such an ordeal! It is large enough to accommodate a large guest list, however it is still intimate so if you only want a few to share in your big day it will work perfect. I also love that there are multiple different ceremony sites you can pick from, which is tricky for me because I love them all! And the wedding/events coordinator out there Andrea is so sweet, we have really enjoyed working with her!
For us being at 302 days until the big day we still have a lot of things to get done and decisions to make! If you have found any great favor, invitation, wedding websites please let me know!
Until next time,
Lindsey

Don't do it...
5 Things You Should NEVER Wear To A Wedding
by Jenny Feldman
Normally, on Save the Date, we focus on what you should wear to weddings, but today’s topic is all about please Don’ts. See if you agree, after the jump.
A white dress (or anything that could under any circumstances be mistaken for a wedding dress)
It might seem pretty obvious but still, I’m surprised by how often I see women making this mistake. Not cool, ladies. Save the floaty white dress for another occasion and take your pick of the 8,000 million other colors chilling in your closet—seriously.
Anything too short ‘n too tight
If you’re really drawn to these kind of get-ups, you might get away with one at the bachelorette party. After that, skip it. Enough said.
A really conservative suit
Suits at weddings can be a Do if they’ve got a skirt, come in a pretty color and have feminine details (think, gorgeous vintage Chanel skirt suit). But that blah work-y thing you wore to the last three job interviews? Nah. Remember, weddings are supposed to be celebratory occasions.
An upstager dress
This part gets tricky, especially if the invitation reads “black tie.” A good rule of thumb is to think carefully about what gown you pick. If it’s something that’s shouting “Look at me! look at me!” or has center-of-attention details like a train or bustle, you might want to reconsider.
Jeans
Sure, they’re sexy, comfy and you can dance all night in them, but c’mon—it’s just bad manners. As a bride, I was even a little offended by the few people who opted to wear golf polos and capri pants to my Saturday night reception. Plus, what will grandma think?

Venues
Over the next few weeks we are going to focus on specific venues and ideas for decorations, favors, and centerpieces to go along with those venues! We hope these ideas help with your wedding plans!
First on the list: Wineries!
Most wineries require that your purchase a certain amount of wine when your hold an event there, you can use these bottles for your favors as well; might as well kill two birds with one stone! You can have the wineries make you custom labels or you can order them online. They make a great gift!
You can also do custom wine glass to give to your guest, a great, functional gift. Every time your guest drink from the glass after the wedding they will remember you and your special day!
Here is a very inexpensive centerpiece; collect empty wine bottles and a little spray paint and you have a terrific vase!
How cute are these? Placement holders

Centerpieces
We have found some fabulous centerpieces that wont cost you a fortune!
You can pick these vases up at Dollar Tree for $1.00 each, that's right one buck! The flowers you can at Afloral.com depending on which ones you pick can range between $1.00-$5.00. Total Centerpiece cost $2.00 - $7.00 per table!
Another great idea for these vases is go to a scrapbook store and buy the 12X12 paper pick a pretty design, also buy some double sided sticky tape. Wrap the paper completely around the vase (so you can't see the glass) then put a candle inside and it will create a beautiful glow, here is a different version~
The vase is $1.00 and then the different types of ribbons which are pretty cheap. Depending on where you shop it would run you between $5.00-$8.00 a piece.
Know a wine drinker, here is a great idea for those wine bottles ~
If you can round of the empty bottles from family and friends all it's going to cost you is spray paint and the flowers. Cheap! Great thing is you can personalize these to match your colors; I have also seen them where the bride put their Last Name Initial painted on it- it adds just that little extra!
Very inexpensive, however very elegant. All you need to do this is a pillar candle, ribbon and some pretty gems and a little hot glue. You can pick the candles up at Walmart for about $1.00 each and the ribbon and crystals are cheap! How pretty. You would probably be less then $2.00 a piece!
Just a few ideas we thought you might like. Great ways to cut back on costs!

Splurge
Are you planning your wedding on a budget? Want to know when to splurge….
1.) PHOTOGRAPHY!! I cannot stress this enough! 10 years from now when you and your husband are reminiscing about your wedding day you are not going to remember what your favors were to the guests. You are going to pull out your wedding album and look through the pictures! You want to spend the money on a photography that is going to capture the day for you! Make sure you look at the photographers portfolio, and remember whatever they have in their portfolio is their best work. If you aren’t impressed with their portfolio thank them for their time and find one you like! Also with your photographer make sure they have a list of pictures you absolutely want.
2.) YOU!! I know you might think it’s crazy to spend a lot on your dress, make up, shoes hair, etc but everyone is looking at the Bride! You are getting married, you deserve to look exactly the way you want. Yes I know it’s a dress you are only going to wear once but SPLURGE on it!!
3.) Your Officiant! Make sure that he/she is on the same page as you. Do not let them control how your ceremony goes. If there are parts that you don’t like tell them. You have to be open and honest with them and if you do not have the same beliefs as them, then find someone you feel knows how you want your ceremony to go.
Brides- Make sure in the wedding process you have a clear picture of what you want your day to be like, and do not be afraid to tell your vendors!

Love is in The Air...but When is the Date?
Valentine's Day is thee number one day of the year for engagement proposals! With that being said...what's next? You have the ring, man of your dreams..check! Now where to go from here? First thing, pick a date! Be realistic, now don't aim for the middle of April when it's only February! See even if you are looking for simple and small when it comes to your wedding, you will regret not taking every moment in. Give your self that time to really appreciate what is going on around you. Picking out your invitations with your mother, venue searching with your best friend, and finding the perfect dress with your sister. Do not take those moments for granted, embrace them! Give yourself enough time to really enjoy, pace yourself and NOT over stress yourself! Anywhere between 6-months to a year is plenty of time to get your budget, guest list and all of your vendors in order. Times are tough right now for many new brides, if that is the case, 1 year would be best for you. Once you get your date, budget set and venue booked, it all falls into place from there. It's a exciting time, take it all in and congratulations!

Simple Elegance
Here are a few ideas that not only are they unique, but simple and dare I say, inexpensive. For instance; lady's you do not have to have fake flowers to pinch and save for your wedding. I want this whole fake flower concept to disapear! They do not add to anything, they only take away! If you chose simple skinny vases, you only need two to three flowers to fill it, and it looks beautiful. Two words; Sam's Club! There flowers are amazing! You can order in bulk from roses to orchids, they have it all and at over half the price. No more fake flowers brides!
