What is in store for weddings in 2011?
Every year, every one of us is looking around to see what the next Big thing is going to be; whether it is in fashion, cars, home décor, or wedding trends. We have been watching wedding trends over the last few years, it is always interesting to see what the new hot ticket item is.
We have been asked what does 2011 look like for Treasure Valley Brides.. Honestly, we don’t know- there isn’t a crystal ball here! We can tell you what we think…
• DIY – we are going to see a lot more Do it Yourself Brides. I think DIY is fantastic, as a bride you will save yourself a lot of money. Plus, it gets your more involved in creating your special day!
• Small, intimate affairs- this year we are going to see smaller guest lists. The days of 300+ guests are gone. I think ceremonies are going to get a lot smaller, 20-30 guests’ tops.
• The “go green” theme is going to subside, however I do see a lot more brides going to the farmers market for their flowers! The Treasure Valley is unique; if we can help support local markets and businesses we are going to do it.
• Bright & Bold- This year wedding colors are going to get even brighter! More colors, brides aren’t scared of color!
• Less is more- I believe that brides aren’t going to go over the top with every detail. I think they are going to be way more focused on the little things, details that themselves and their guests are going to remember.
• Random- Brides are going to get away from the symmetrical theme. Not every table and every detail has to be the same. Brides are going to start shaking things up, have a few 4 ft, 5 ft, and 6 ft round tables. Centerpieces used to all be exactly the same – not anymore!
• Honeymoons- Here in the Treasure Valley it is pretty common for newlyweds to skip the honeymoon, we are going to see a lot more of weekend getaways. Whether that is to McCall, getting a cabin in Cascade or heading to Sun Valley; couples are going to be going away at least for the weekend.
Again, these are just our predictions.
Feel free to comment if you think we are going to be seeing something different this year!

Be Twiced Inpsired
Attention Brides! You need to save the dates February 25th and 26th, This sounds like a wonderful event.
“The Be Twice Inspired Wedding Sale is a seasonal event in which recent brides can consign and sell their new and gently used wedding items to new brides within your area.
This event not only gives the public the opportunity to save money on the growing costs of planning a wedding, but brings a little extra money to those who have wedding items taking up valuable storage space. A shopper can find great deals while meeting with local vendors from the wedding community - all in a great shopping atmosphere.”
If you have items to sell from your wedding make sure you contact them. All you have to do is drop off your items.. it doesn’t get any easier than that!

Wedding Party Shows 2011
There are quite a few Wedding Shows coming up starting in January, get ready Brides! Here are a few tips to help you get more out of the shows. Make sure to have a plan before headed out. Make a list of vendors you are interested in for your wedding. A lot of times at the shows vendors will have a special if you sign up then with them; keep that in mind to save yourself some money. Another great tip set up an email account just for your wedding. You can set up a free email account through hotmail, yahoo, or gmail. It is a terrific idea to have a separate email account just for your wedding. Also go get labels, you can pick them up for pretty cheap and it will save your hand! Make sure to print your name, your fiance's name, your address, email, number and date of your wedding. Then you simply stick your label onto the vendor’s info sheet instead of writing it over and over again. Huge time saver!

We asked the lovely Joncee May, with Photography by Joncee May; to tell us all a little about herself. Joncee is wonderful, she is a featured photographer on our website and whenever we ask she is always willing to help out! Thank you Joncee May!
![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh56qnHLcIhdmEKblYdtbMI6MZYF5pLYZt5Sgxz9Jl75xlWjDEmOn3kN9j5aecgrSzIVeNQuMp1ikDneOlI-Va62FqxlgYXRk0T7VwUlPe3QvBMTCzfbv-_Sxko8Gn2EOlRgEd4bSr-zhg/s320/jandr-111.jpg)

In order to do this I use what I call lifestyle photography. I want to capture you in your natural state, living your life! However, I also want you to look your best doing it. Most of the time I will not be posing you. but I will tell you if you need to fix your stray hairs, or move your hand into a more pleasing position. You will be pleased to receive lots of meaningful candids when I photograph your day. My goal is to have you say "I did not even know you took that picture."

I also will do posed shots. Most of these will be when the bride and groom are alone. These are the more artistic, and dramatic photos that my clients love. Posed shots will also be used when we are doing the group photos with the family and with the bridal party. Most of all my goal is to capture photos that will make you remember your special day in years to come.

I want you to look at your wedding photos and fall in love with your spouse all over again. I want you to be able to have something beautiful to represent your day that can be passed down for generations. But, most of all, I want the photos to represent YOU and who you were at that moment in life.

We have been asked many times.. What is the best way to propose?
Here are a couple of ideas that your soon to be wife will not forget!
1.) Silverhawk Aviation - Do NOT do this if your girlfriend is afraid of heights it could turn out very badly! Silverhawk Aviation offers helicopter rides, they are currently running a special for Christmas to go and view the Christmas lights from "Santa's view" it would be absolutely breath taking! It cost $125.00 per couple! If you are not planning to pop the question until after the first of the year; they are also offering a Valentine's Day Special February 12th, 13th, & 14th for only $99 per couple! For more information click here!

2.) This picture was done with candles. Another very cute idea we have seen is it written out with Christmas lights. Just something to think about to tie in with the holidays!
3.) Another adorable idea, take your sweetheart back to where you guys first kissed. Reminisce with her about that moment, and then you get down on one knee.
4.)How cute is this.. Get up early in the morning and go find a place on the way to Bogus (or anywhere there is snow) and spray paint "Will you Marry Me?" in the snow. Go home and tell your girlfriend you want to go for a drive!

5.) You could always go out to her favorite nice restaurant, have a wonderful meal and when the dessert shows up, you go down on one knee. Please don't put it in her meal we have heard many horror stories that end in the ER!
The important thing to think about is what type of person is your girlfriend? Make sure that you do something she would want! Your girlfriend may rather have a quite proposal just the two of you in your living room, or she might want it on the big screen at a sporting event. Just remember this is the moment we have dreamt about for many years and we want it to be special! We want it to be a moment we will never forget! Remember ALL girls like flowers (even if we say we don't)

November 24, 2010 ~ Lindsey’s Journal
Well I logged into my email this morning to find that I now have 289 days until the Big Day! This is just torture I think I will have to add these emails to my junk. I think they are informative emails however every time I see that number I start to have a little panic attack. Anyone else feel that way? I have found my new best friends ~ Sorry Krissy! It is my wedding planner! I love this binder it has everything you could ever imagine, I have pictures I have printed off, planner, receipts.. everything!
Just a side note, you do not have to go spend $30-$50 on a wedding planner; if you go to Google and look up “free wedding planner download” a ton of website will pull up; download and print it off. Head over to Walmart and buy a 3 ring binder and a package or two of dividers and you my friend have a wedding planner! Here is a great link , that has a wedding month by month count down. Having a checklist is the best way to not get overwhelmed! Take it month by month.
We have all heard about personal wedding websites, they are great and I would suggest that everyone makes one! You can find them for free; momentville.com is a great site and it’s free. Another amazing idea that was passed down to me was to create an email account just for your wedding. I had never thought of this but I can tell you I love it! I have my business email accounts and then my personal and now I have one for our wedding. It is such a great idea, I give out that one to all the vendors and all of my wedding emails are now in one place!
My agenda for the next 30 days: dress shopping, dj, save the dates, photographer. I am having troubles finding wedding invitations. If you know of any place where I can get pocket (quality) invitations for a decent price please let me know!
Until next time,
Lindsey
